JUNKO KOSHINO: From Origin to Present — Abeno Harukas Art Museum

Born in Kishiwada, Osaka, JUNKO KOSHINO won the Soen Award — regarded as the gateway for emerging designers — as its youngest-ever recipient in 1960, and went on to begin her career as a fashion designer based in Tokyo. While holding highly acclaimed shows around the world, in recent years she has opened new frontiers that transcend the field of clothing design. This exhibition is the largest ever devoted to the full scope of JUNKO KOSHINO’s work — an artist who has always been at the forefront of fashion, continually unfolding new creations. Some 200 items, including costumes, design sketches, and photographic panels, bring her appeal into focus.
