The exhibition JUNKO KOSHINO: “From Origin to Present” will be held at the Oita Prefectural Art Museum from April 15 to May 29.
From the design sketches she drew during her high-school days in Kishiwada, Osaka — the very origin of JUNKO KOSHINO’s creativity — and her Soen Award–winning work, to boutique scenes of the 1960s, the uniforms for the 1970 Osaka Expo, the worldviews she created through fashion such as “Antithesis,” “Cosmos,” “Rationality,” and “Eternity,” and her work with DRUM TAO — based in Kuju, Oita, and active both in Japan and abroad — the exhibition presents the full scope of her activities to the present day.
During the exhibition period, a variety of related events will also be held, including a celebratory spectacle bringing together Koshino’s fashion with ballet dancers and DRUM TAO, as well as talk events.
