To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Sun Yat-sen, the father of the Chinese Revolution, a forum and fashion show themed on Japan–China fashion exchange was held on November 30, 2016, in Beijing (at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse), hosted by the Sun Yat-sen Cultural Foundation of Japan. JUNKO KOSHINO took part as a guest designer from the Japanese side, given her close ties to Sun Yat-sen. She presented a contemporary reinterpretation of the “Zhongshan suit” (Mao suit) that Sun Yat-sen introduced as formal dress, in a runway show. Going forward, it will be sold within China as a new Zhongshan suit in partnership with affiliated companies.
