New Book “JUNKO KOSHINO: 56 Words of Reassurance” Released on February 15, 2021

JUNKO KOSHINO Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President Hiroyuki Suzuki) will publish, through Sekai Bunka Publishing, a book gathering the powerful words of designer JUNKO KOSHINO into a single volume. From her youth alongside Kenzo Takada — a fellow member of the celebrated ninth graduating class — to the 1960s boutique “COLETTE,” her friendships with Kazumi Yasui and Kuniyoshi Kaneko, the spirit with which she overcame bitter experiences, her exchanges with some of the world’s leading figures, and the miraculous fashion shows she staged in Cuba and Brazil, this precious volume recounts the JUNKO KOSHINO way of living — the “Koshino Words” — weaving in numerous photographs that also stand as a valuable record of Japan’s fashion culture, and treasuring the many encounters that have carried her to this day as a world-renowned designer active across a wide range of fields. On sale at bookstores nationwide. From JUNKO KOSHINO’s 56 words: It’s all right — the present is always what matters — The “now” is forever changing. It differs from the “now” of the past. It changes every day, every moment. The “now” we look back on from two years ago and the “now” of this moment are not the same. And so the “now” of this very instant is the truth. Embracing this “now” — which of course holds good things, but also encompasses all kinds of problems — I live. And if we do not act now, there is no connection to tomorrow; do now what can be done now, for tomorrow may become even harder. Always now — “now” is the starting line.
