To help solve the challenges facing Fukushima Prefecture’s traditional crafts and local industries — “declining demand caused by changes in consumer lifestyles and values” and “a shortage of skilled workers and successors” — a collaboration was carried out between creators, including JUNKO KOSHINO, and local industrial products. On February 9, 2017, ahead of the exhibition at rooms, a press announcement and preview event was held. The reception party was a grand launch event attended by Reconstruction Minister Imamura and Fukushima Vice-Governor Hata, along with the media and other stakeholders. The products unveiled were exhibited at rooms, a joint fashion and design trade show, from February 15 to 17, drawing the attention of many visitors. This time, a high-level collaboration was achieved by three parties: manufacturing professionals centred on Fukushima Prefecture; H.P.FRANCE, with its expertise in promotion and sales; and JUNKO KOSHINO, who fuses technology and lifestyle through the power of design. This partnership brought new products to life. Through this initiative, they aim to offer traditional crafts to consumers as products suited to modern life while nurturing “the pride of Fukushima” as “a place where world-class creators make things.”
